Brave officer alone faced Boko Haram terrorists

The brave officer who lost his job and means of livelihood to fight against Boko Haram insurgency is a youth – He goes by the name Muazu Alhaji Misiya – Misiya is of Northern extraction

When Boko Haram insurgency was at its peak, Misiya lost his job and almost lost his life to the terrorist group, just to ensure that there was life of peace in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. He is married with two wives and six children.

Misiya lived in Bama town in Borno state. He worked in First Bank that is located in Maiduguri. However, he lost his job in the Bank because he was determined to fight the Boko Haram terrorists. Afterwards, he joined the Civilian Joint Task Force in order to render assistance to the Nigerian army in their quest to wipe out the Boko Haram insurgents from the Northeast region of the country. About a week ago, it was learnt that the Nigerian army jointly with the civilian JTF members rescued up to 5,000 people were rescued from Boko Haram.

Since Misiya joined the Civilian JTF, he has not relent. He said he is not going to back down until he sees all elements of insurgency are crushed in the Northern region. He added that if the fight continues till the future, he will also continue.

While explaining further, the father of six said Boko Haram terrorists did all what they could in their efforts to kill him, but they failed woefully. The people of Bama town and Maiduguri gave him the title of ‘Warrior,’ because of his contribution to fighting insurgency and helping to reduce the threats of the Boko Haram group. Some people call him ‘Hero.’ Investigations revealed that Misiya has not collected kobo either in form of salary or gratification whether from the army headquarters or the federal government of Nigeria or the Borno state government or from any individual since he has been contributing his gallantry effort to see insurgency ends in the North.
