Diego Costa Finally Speaks On Conte’s Clash With Jose Mourinho

Diego Costa has said he is not surprised, that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and his Manchester United counterpart, Jose Mourinho, had a furious verbal exchange, during a tense FA Cup quarter-final tie on Monday night.

Both coaches had to be separated by the fourth official, Mike Jones.

The row happened, after United midfielder Ander Herrera, was sent off for two bookable offences by referee Michael Oliver.

Costa told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: “We all know how Conte and Mourinho are. They have very strong characters and it’s normal that they clash.

“It’s a good thing I wasn’t [on the bench for the game], otherwise I would have joined in!”

Speaking about the game, which Chelsea won 1-0, Costa added: “It was a very complicated game because United defended deeply. But we had the game under control from the first minute and we won.

“You can see that we are in good form and the important thing is to continue like this. Our aim is to win the domestic double.”
